How the TicketManager Solution Works

Officers simply enter a license plate number on a handheld device that sends the information via a wireless network straight into the TicketManager server. Drop-down menus and automatic fill-ins of repetitive information make completion of enforcement notices convenient and efficient. This also eliminates the previous time-consuming and error-prone task of batch-processing handwritten tickets at the end of the day. The handheld units transmit tickets continuously throughout the day, making citations available for review at the central office almost immediately after the citation has been issued. This comes in handy when vehicle owners call in with questions after finding a ticket on their windshield. The system’s efficiency also contributes to an overall increase in public meter compliance, realizing they are not likely to ‘get away’ without paying.

The central TicketManager server stores all ticket information, vehicle infraction histories and residential permit-parking registrations. It also contains additional valuable information such as previous abusive behavior by the driver, multiple infractions by a particular vehicle, courtesy cancellations and tickets from earlier in the day. With the ability to retrieve this data in real time, officers can make more effective decisions on the street as well as benefit from automatic warnings and safety alerts.

TicketManager is also available with batch functionality. In this system, data from handheld units needs to be downloaded into the main system at the end of each day. Enforcement Officers still have access to central database information, however it only reflects the last system update. This solution still eliminates the costly, error-prone and time consuming process of handwriting tickets and of re-entering ticket information into the main database.
